The Agnes Etherington Art Centre holds over 16,000 works of art, with major concentrations of contemporary art, Canadian historical art, Baroque-era paintings of the Dutch Golden Age, and African art. The Canadian collections include fine early topographical watercolours and major examples of 20th-century painting, and embraces Inuit and Indigenous art, as well as historic dress and decorative arts reflecting the history of the region. The historical European holdings are of exceptional quality and depth. At their core is The Bader Collection, with nearly 200 paintings including three by Rembrandt. The contemporary art collection is largely Canadian, with strong representation of socially and politically engaged art, and major examples of electronic art. |

The Gallery has a large and varied collection of paintings, drawings, sculpture and photographs. Although its focus is on Canadian art, it holds works by many noted American and European artists. It has a strong contemporary art collection with some of Andy Warhol's most famous works. In 1990 the Gallery bought Barnett Newman's Voice of Fire for $1.8 million, igniting a storm of controversy. Since that time its value has appreciated sharply. In 2005, the Gallery acquired a painting by Italian Renaissance painter Francesco Salviati for $4.5 million. Its most famous painting is likely The Death of General Wolfe by Anglo-American artist Benjamin West. |

The pumping station supplied water to the town of Niagara-on-the-Lake until 1983. The Tree Museum is open from May 1st to October 31st. The site is not wheelchair accessible. To see most of the art, you have to climb up rocks. There is no traditional Museum Building. The sculptures are in the woods and on the rocks. This is a hike in the woods. The path is uneven. Bring water. There is no washroom; there is an outhouse. |
